Empowering tomorrow’s innovators with The Nisbet Trust

In the spirit of advancing scientific education, we are proud to announce that we have recently been awarded a multi-year grant to accelerate our mission. Over three years, Science Creates Outreach will receive £15,000 from The Nisbet Trust.

Supporting Bristol’s children

The Nisbet Trust is an organisation supporting charitable causes in the Greater Bristol area. This multi-year grant signifies the Trust’s recognition of our commitment to foster and support the scientific curiosity of young, disadvantaged learners in the city through our mission to diversify the faces of science.

Growing our team to catalyse scientific curiosity

The grant will have a significant and positive impact on our work. As we welcome more budding scientists and entrepreneurs through the doors of The Learning Lab, our team will need to grow to support the delivery of our programme to these students.

One key effect of this funding is that it will allow us to expand our team, contributing to new curriculum-enhancing workshops, behind-the-scenes laboratory tours and exciting events. This ultimately means more inspiring conversations with pioneering scientists, the ability to open more doors for students of diverse backgrounds, and more learners empowered with the skills and experiences to change the world.

This will be a key milestone in Science Creates Outreach’s journey as it signifies our growth and impact since launching as a registered charity in 2022. It also highlights our progress towards achieving our ambitious target of welcoming 3,000 learners each year - something we will only be able to do with a great team and the support of our advocates.

Making impact

Alison Hope from The Nisbet Trust said: “We focus on supporting disadvantaged children and young people, so we’re delighted to award a grant to this exciting charity, enabling school children from inner city areas to get hands-on with science and broaden their career horizons.”

Charlie Proctor, founder of Science Creates Outreach, shares: “Science Creates Outreach is so grateful for the support from The Nisbet Trust. Recruiting more help into the charity is a big milestone and is going to mean our capacity for inviting young people to The Learning Lab is increased, which is really exciting!”
