Bridging the STEM gap: Introducing the Corporate Supporter Scheme

A female teacher, wearing a black hijab and white lab coat, smiles at a student during a science workshop in The Learning Lab. Other students are blurred in the background and foreground as they conduct their own experiements.

As part of our work towards a better, brighter and greener world for all, we are excited to announce the launch of our Corporate Support Scheme—an initiative forging meaningful partnerships between socially-responsible businesses and our charity, to empower tomorrow’s leaders.

Why STEM education?

Science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) education promotes critical thinking, curiosity, problem-solving and entrepreneurship, and when this education is nurtured, it leads to world-changing progress. Whether it’s agriculture, medicine or robotics, STEM is at the forefront of innovation for our rapidly advancing world, and it is the answer to solving global challenges such as food scarcity and the climate crisis.

This means that the future rests in the scientific potential of today's young minds, yet 58% of primary classrooms in the UK disappointingly receive less than two hours of science lessons each week. That’s a critical problem - but Science Creates Outreach is a part of the solution.

Bridging the gap

By visiting us at The Learning Lab, young scientists and entrepreneurs make discoveries, challenge ideas, and view the world with new eyes. Our programme includes curriculum-linked workshops, immersive tours of a science incubator and conversations with real scientists. This unique approach to STEM education demystifies scientific careers, diversifies the faces of science and empowers young people to be confident problem solvers - shaping a new generation of innovators.

Our programme has already reached over 2,000 students but we’re just getting started. We have an ambitious goal of educating thousands of children each year, and with the support of organisations also dedicated to having a positive impact, we will be able to do just that.

The Corporate Supporter Scheme - making a difference

Achieving our goal requires passion, resources and collaboration with local and national communities. The Corporate Supporter Scheme is a brand new initiative which gives organisations who want to make a difference in young people’s lives, a structured framework to do so. By donating a sum of your choice, you will support our charity in the delivery of our programme whilst aligning yourself with a cause you believe in and having a huge impact in the community.

Whether it’s upgrading The Learning Lab with state-of-the-art equipment like VR headsets and scientific glassware, or covering the costs of a hands-on workshop for schools in disadvantaged areas, your commitment will make a massive difference to our reach - and yours too.

A graphic with three symbols separated by horizontal purple arrows visualises how Science Creates Outreach supporters gain visibility, resources and real impact in exchange for donations.

As well as inspiring a sense of social responsibility and fulfilment among your business and its employees, the scheme also comes with a range of exclusive opportunities and resources as a massive thank you for your support. This package includes public recognition, digital assets, events, evidence towards a B Corp certification and more. For example, we will:

  • Celebrate your partnership with us by spotlighting you as an official supporter on social media and on our website

  • Provide you with graphics, template articles and grant application text to help you champion your commitment

  • Host annual events to bring our network of supporters together

  • Further your B Corp application as a result of this partnership, providing points within two categories

As a result, you gain brand visibility and an enhanced reputation whilst being a part of something meaningful.

Dr Andy Chapman, CEO of Carbometrics and an existing supporter of the charity, shares: “Joining Science Creates Outreach’s Corporate Supporter Scheme has been incredibly rewarding. It is great to have such a tangible impact on the future of STEM education, and the supporter resources have made it so easy for us to share the positive difference that we’re making in the community.”

In today’s world, investing in STEM education is not just a choice — it's a necessity. By joining our Corporate Support Scheme, you will make a lasting impact and inspire future generations. Register your interest today to help create a better world for us all: join the scheme.
